Indulging in our attractions and fantasies about our favourite TV show characters takes the excitement and entertainment to the next level. Let’s be honest, while we’re invested in the plot, most of us are also figuring out the classic “Bang, Marry, Kill” scenario with the characters. By offering more personality development and emotional layers as compared to mainstream adult content, and more screen time than a movie, celluloid gives us ample material and moments to get our knickers in a twist. Game of Thrones
Winter has indeed come, and Game of Thrones just topped Ranker’s chart of best binge-worthy shows of all time. If you somehow happened to have missed it so far, an epic fantasy world with a rich lore, complex characters, and several bold sexual encounters awaits you. While I have some reservations with the way violence is depicted on the show, the story and range of intimate relationships explored, kept me hooked. The GOT character I thirst after the most is Oberyn Martell, played by Pedro Pascal–”the internet’s daddy”–who appears in season 4 episode 3, ‘Breaker of Chains’. Hailed as a fictional bisexual icon by fans, Oberyn adorns the screen with undeniable charm and unapologetic hedonistic desire. With his paramour Ellaria Sand, played by the enchanting Indira Varma, by his side, he commands a sex-fest with multiple partners, of multiple genders. As he puts it, “when it comes to love, he doesn’t choose sides.” Apart from Oberyn, there’s a whole range of other characters to feast your eyes on, from brooding heartthrob Jon Snow, to Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen, and fierce Dothraki chieftain Khal Drogo.
GLOW
GLOW stands for the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, and if this revelation doesn't already pique your interest, let me share more details–it only gets better. Set in the 1980s, and based on a real wrestling show by the same name, the sitcom transports you to the vibrant era of big hair, neon lights and spandex. The central characters are a group of multidimensional, diverse women who find themselves thrown together for a chance at stardom in the world of professional wrestling. While watching these gorgeous ladies transform into their wrestling personalities and grab and pull at each other in their bodysuits as they compete in the ring is quite the visual treat in itself, there are several scenes where they get hot and heavy more explicitly too. Some unforgettable scenes are Ruth riding her way to glory in the very first episode, the playful and tender sapphic intimacy between Yolanda and Arthie, and the threesome between Bash, Rhonda and a gigolo–which also features some voyeurism. Something more subtle that I feel adds to the physical appeal of the show is the nuanced depiction of nudity. While the women do perform attractiveness on camera and around other characters, they are also shown moving around casually in their nudity between dress rehearsals. This felt very freeing to watch, as compared to the general portrayal of nudity on screen where female bodies are constantly sexualised, adding a sense of comfort and relatability.

I got a very generous tip from a friend to watch Minx after they saw me crushing on Taylor Zakhar Perez online, hinting that he’s in some “very interesting scenes”' in the show. When I Googled the show and found out that it's about creating the first erotic magazine for women, I knew I had to watch it immediately. Minx is the story of how a ballsy feminist, Joyce Prigger, and a sleazy porn publisher, Doug Renetti, join forces to create a groundbreaking erotic magazine that celebrates female desire. A substantial length of their office hours is spent scouting talent–male models ready to bare all–and shooting erotic spreads. The cover star for their debut issue is a loveable himbo firefighter, played by Taylor, who poses in little clothing apart from his firefighter gear. As the show continues, it interlaces the intimate lives of the main characters with the issues that come up as they work on the magazine. This gives us a peek into some adventurous scenarios, like Joyce trying a dildo for the first time, her sister Shelley and her husband swinging with other couples in their neighbourhood, and Shelley’s eventual discovery of her attraction to women–which raises the bigger question, “Is female desire only about wanting men?”
